The Movement at Work: the 2019 Southern Nevada Youth Homelessness Summit
On November 7, 2019, several hundred community stakeholders joined together to move the Southern Nevada Plan to End Youth Homelessness forward at Summit 2019 at The Venetian Resort® Las Vegas. Structured around four distinct tracks designed to execute on the Plan, participants spent the morning learning from experts in their selected track focus area and applied learnings in action-based afternoon implementation sessions. Summit 2019 also featured keynote addresses by federal elected officials and representatives from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and the U.S. Interagency Council on Homelessness, along with engaging performances and insights from young people with lived experience of homelessness.
Summit 2019 was presented by the Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth and Sands Cares with support from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas Greenspun College of Urban Affairs and the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
