Summit 2022: Powering the Movement

Even before the crises of the past several years, Southern Nevada had one of the highest rates of youth homelessness in the nation. Now, young people are facing heightened barriers in our changing world that are disproportionately affecting our community’s most vulnerable young people and are likely to exacerbate youth homelessness in Southern Nevada.

Summit 2022 brought together hundreds of community stakeholders to recharge discussions around the most pressing issues impacting young people experiencing homelessness today. Along with these important conversations, many efforts were made to take the Movement to the next level, including the announcement that the annual Summit will be taken statewide, creating new collaboration opportunities between the north, south, and rural parts of the state, and working toward creating an eventual statewide Plan to End Youth Homelessness. To push forward this collaboration, a new Summit Planning Committee will be formed to incorporate Summit 2023 content and participation from around the state.

Other efforts to empower The Movement to End Youth Homelessness came with the launch of The Movement Institute series, a new quarterly innovative, inspiring, and hands-on advocacy training on youth homelessness.

Our sixth annual Southern Nevada Youth Homelessness Summit: Powering The Movement proved to be the launch of a new era in the fight against youth homelessness, but we cannot stop here! Now, with new ways to get involved and more work to be done, we ask you to take this momentum and find your role in the fight to #endyouthhomelessness. Click to visit the Movement Action Center and take action today. Also, scroll below to rewatch and dive into the learnings of Summit 2022 and watch The Movement Institute to hear more ways that you can #bethemovement.
